INNOVATIVE SYSTEMS

RESEARCH

Our research topics include emerging pharmacotherapies as well as addiction and concurrent disorders. We also have ongoing research with and about youth, in mental health and in other domains.

Our current projects include a psilocybin systematic review, varenicline case study, ketamine cohort study, youth mental health mixed methods project, and an observational cohort study on people who intentionally use fentanyl.

PROJECTS

Current projects at The Votum Lab involve youth research advisory work and aiding in the development of psychedelic assisted psychotherapy allowed under the special authority program.

In addition, we are also involved in improving psychological and mental wellness in organizations in Canada.

PARTNERS

Our Canadian partners are from various domains. These span from the non-profit and charitable space to research groups and private companies.

Our partners benefit as collaborators, clients, and through support for building their research capacity.  We also offer consulting services for companies hoping to improve the quality of existing programs.

TESTIMONIALS

"Surrounded by people whose names I had previously seen credited as authors in articles I had read during my research and being able to interact with them to discuss our mutual interest in a field that I, by now, was quite knowledgeable in, was an experience I will never forget–one that I was only able to have this early on in my career because of this lab."
